OnePlus Bullets Wireless

OnePlus released the Bullets Wireless 2 alongside the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro on May 14.
In May 2020, OnePlus introduced a less expensive version of OnePlus Bullets Wireless 2 in the form of OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, in India. The major highlight of this product is 10 minutes of charging powers 10 hours of playback time. The overall playback time is 20 hours.
OnePlus Wireless Z-Bass edition was launched in India back in October 2020.

Is One Plus Bullets Wireless earphones worth buying under price of 1,999?

OnePlus wireless Z Bass edition and normal edition both are worth buying your money.
They come with the best sound quality , best battery life, fast charging, IP55 rating.
But the question arises that which one is better between the two edition. So, to answer the article is all about this only. But let's see their similarities first.

Major similarities between One Plus Bullets Wireless Z Bass edition and normal edition

  • Both are priced as 1,999.
  • Sound Quality is almost similar
  • Only 10 min of charging time gives 10 hours of playback which is pretty impressive.

Just 10 min of charging, charges it up to half  and nearly 25 min of charging makes it fully charged.

Note: Normal charger using will maintain the same speed as that of fast charger.

  • IP55 rated which means sweat and water resistant.
  • Magnetic Control is strong.

Functionality:
When you attach the magnets of earbuds at their opposite end then it connection is lost while de-attaching provide the connectivity again.

  • Bluetooth  5.0 which gives connectivity of 10 m range.
  • Comes with USB type C cable as they support fast charging
  • Portable/Comfortable as their neckband is very soft which allow them to be folded. Not any kind of irritation is felt .Its neckband design allow them to be settled easily on next and can be wore for long.
  • 9.2 mm driver size.
  • Quality of neckband is similar.
  • Modules comes with one plus branding.

But they differ in certain aspects, which help us to decide which is better and worth buying.

Differences between One Plus Bullets Wireless Z Bass edition and normal edition

Design

They are designed almost similar but they do differ in certain properties like

  • Both comes in different colors. Overall theme is changed in BWZ Bass edition.
  • Size of BWZ Bass is lesser than BWZ because control buttons (volume up, volume down, call accept buttons)in BWZ Bass edition is  on the neckband whereas in BWZ these buttons are slightly lower ,placed separately from neckband.
  • Microphone in BWZ Bass is slightly away from mouth and close to the neckband than in BWZ .
  • Quick switch button has been omitted from BWZ Bass edition, so, BWZ Bass edition requires manual connectivity while double tapping it provides  switching between the devices whereas this is available in BWZ edition.

Role of Quick switch:

It provides easy connectivity between two devices simply pressing it twice to get switched from one device to other.

  • BWZ Bass has been rei-engineered with super bass driver.
  • BWZ Bass edition wire is texture whereas it is plain of BWZ, but quality is same for both.
  • Bluetooth Connectivity speed is same in both the earphones However in OnePlus phones you will directly get tap to pair notification which is not with the other smartphones. In other smartphones if have to manually connect them by pairing from the setting option.

Battery Life

The battery life in BWZ Bass is 17 hours because they come with an additional bass whereas it is 20 hours in BWZ edition.
If not used continuously then it can give backup of upto 1.5 days otherwise easily it can run for a day without draining off completely.
Note :If volume is at 1/3 of max volume then we can witness maximum battery backup.

Gaming Mode

BWZ Bass edition has 100 ms latency whereas it is 110 ms for BWZ  which means BWZ Bass Version has a better performance.

Result get varied when you use phones other than OnePlus smartphones as they have phonetic mode. You can enjoy gaming by making on phonetic  mode.

Weight

BWZ Bass has slightly lesser weight .i.e. 26 gm in comparison to BWZ which is 28 gm. This is because neckband thickness is minimized in BWZ Bass Edition.

Sound Quality

BWZ Bass Edition is re engineered only to increase the sound quality and as it comes with packaging having tagline "Sound you feel" and enhance the bass whereas normal edition has less bass.

Note: Even earlier versions of OnePlus which came with the price range of 4000-5000 has less bass compared to BWZ Bass edition. They don't have punchy base as that in realme, boat earphones.

If you are kind of  loving slow sound track sound, pop sound, romantic sound then you can enjoy it very well with Bass Edition. Vocalsa are good and instruments can be clearly heard.
Its also true that they loudness are not like realme, boat rockerz earphones but within such a low price range You are getting very good and balanced sound quality.
Sound Quality of normal edition is also good more of balanced sound experiences you will get. But the difference is of Bass and maximum volume is slightly higher in bass edition than in normal edition.

Call Quality

Audio quality is slightly better than that of bass edition. This is due to the mic position in normal edition is closer to the mouth whereas it is farther in Bass Edition.

In BWZ Bass Edition noise cancellation is not so good.as compared to BWZ normal edition . But you will not find a kind of drastic difference between the two.

And generally, a person try to be away from noisy area while attending some important calls or that of long duration. And for short while it is manageable.

Comfortability

Outer door condition is better in BWZ Bass edition as mic or module section is static while in normal edition it hits on the face while running or doing other physical activities which is quite annoying.

Conclusion

To conclude that which earphones are best to buy among the two, I would say it totally depends on one's choices which varies from one to one. I can suggest some of the factors which help you to decide the one.

If, you go with the OnePlus Bullet wireless Z Bass edition then you have to compromise with the Quick switch, 3 hours less battery life and slight difference in audio quality.
When focusing on audio quality of normal edition which is due to mic position you should also consider that this positioning of mic in normal edition reduces its comfortability while running or some other activities  as it get clashes with your faces every time.
Also quick switch and less battery backup can be ignored if you are sort of  bass loving person and sound quality can also be not ignored for audio quality of normal edition . But it is totally subjective.
Lastly, I must suggest that if you are an old user of normal edition than no need to buy wireless z bass edition as you will not find much difference. And  both the earphones version are the best phones under the price of 2000.
